GodModding in general:
"Godmodding" is in essence when someone's character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try.
-It can be killing or injuring a character without the player's express permission.
-It can be when they simply can't be hit and dodge all attacks or anything for this matter aimed at them.
-It can also be using other characters that other people RP with. In other words, if you do not RP as Kirby, then you cannot have Kirby say anything, or do anything, without the player's expressed permission. ( see: bunnying )
The absolute worst is when they make out another character to be what they're not, just to make their own character seem superior. They make others seem weak, screaming for help, when they've made it quite clear about their advantages and strengths. This is called power-play. It's a strain of God-Modding, but instead of just being irritating, it's offensive to boot.
Bunnying
A term used in roleplaying, bunnying is taking control of characters other than your own in order to make the storyline go the way you want it to.
Powerposing/God Modeing/Run-way RPing
This is defined by RPing actions that affect another player without their permission. Any actions that involve the killing of another character all the way to having the person nod are part of this as well.
Example: Shianna smirked and bolted forward, her sword at the ready, and within one strike she impaled Rosengard with her sword. With a swift jerk she ripped the sword out, Miss Rosengard's heart still upon the swords ragged edge.
While that example is graphic other more subtle actions can still be called any of the above mentioned.
Example: In a soft and sad voice she sung a song so sweet that it causes all within it's range to fall under her spell.
Example two: He threw his knife, cutting open his opponents cheek.
Also, no one is invulnerable, if someone attacks you either get hit or do a really good block.
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Is also a form of GOD-MODDING. You and your character and your other characters (if you have them) are all different beings. Thus what you know, your character(s) do not until they find out on there own. Just because you know that Superman's secret identity is Clark Kent that does not mean your character does. They have to LEARN just like you did.
When both of the character's owners or authors are in agreement of something happening, it is not godmoding.
Manipulating your own characters to make something happen is also not godmoding, in certain parameters.
Example 1:
Bob (Author): I am so tired of playing Rozen, he is such a slime ball!
Billy (Author): Want Lady Aisha to off him?
Bob: Could you? Hey I know, you could blow him up with a secretly placed bomb!
Billy: okay!
Both are in an agreement, so it is acceptable.
Example:
Billy's Character A: "Mwahaha I shall kill you with this bright and shiny sword!" He exclaimed holding up said sword.
Billy's Character B: "I'd like to see you try!" She replied thingyily, brushing back her hair.
Billy's Character A: "Okay!" He threw his sword and before Azriella knew it, the old rusty sword was through her breast plate, puncturing her heart and left lung. Killing her instantly.
Roleplayer used his own characters, therefore it is not godmodding.
HOW TO AVOID
Keep in mind as well that the world does not revolve around your characters. Base your story around the stories of others, too, not just what you want. Don't neglect people who want to add to your story. Other people have ideas, too, and they benefiet you, them, and everyone else.
Do not pull things out of your rear-end. This would be random things like "Guise, I have summat to tell you... I AM A WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION FROM OUTAR SPAAAEEEEEZZZ!!"
EXAMPLES OF PULLING THINGS OUT OF YOUR BUTTOX:
1. Solving a problem before there has been enough time for there have been a conflict. Say an enemy much more powerful than you appears, and you want to be the hero. Right after the appearance post is made, your character goes and does something that instantly defeats the character. This also falls under godmodding.
2. Gaining items instantaniously, say bringing a bazooka out of a garage, even though your character is a 13-year-old ginger. This also falls under godmodding.

Please refrain from just randomly barging into a Area and saying “HUH HUH HI IZ DA MAN A DA PWNZER!!! WHHHHEEE!!! WHAZ JOO NAME!!!”
There is one thing I’d really like you to avoid by any means necessary: If for some reason you get bored, annoyed, etc. with the RP; if it is your fellow Role Players or if it is the story, do NOT just decide to goof around because you “gave up on it.” By doing random crap because you are bored, etc., you ruin the experience for the other members who wish to enjoy that RP. Instead, try to get through the RP if you have become a needed member of said RP, or if you can’t stand it try to find a reasonable way to pull your characters out. I.E. Killing them off, in a reasonable fasion. Having them leave for personal reasons. Or whatever. Just please don’t ruin someone else's experience because of how your experience was.
On a final note, please keep these guidelines in mind when you're RPing. Thanks.
