Since the Roleplay you make is your own, you obviously will make the rules if you started it (as in, you are the Game Master ). Rules vary vastly within Roleplays, depending on what domain it is on. Here are a few basic rules all RolePlayers should be aware of and follow, regardless:
- No Godmodding (there is a thread about what this is at the 'Guides' Forum )
- Wait for a response before moving on
- Ignoring responses is penalized
- Respect your peers
- Do not impose yourself and your ideas on others.
- Stick to the plot. Divergences can happen and new ideas are accepted, but as long as it doesn't completly destroy the original plot (unless the objective is over and done with)
- Read back if you get left behind
- Wait for a response before moving on unless the person that plays the character takes a really long time to respond
- Keep everything to the rules of the world you are RolePlaying in if it's a Roleplay based out of an existing world.
- Don't try to twist the story to focus on your characters and what you want, or ignore posts so everything goes your way
Post other suggestions if you have any.
